Dave Lahn
Dave is currently a Computer Science student at Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also completing a business administration option as a part of his degree in order to gain a strong business background. He is currently working full-time at Household China & Gifts in Waterloo as a Computer Consultant and doing various payroll and accounting tasks.
Household China & Gifts runs a network of Apple computers, which has enabled Dave to expand his knowledge with Apple products. Dave has a specialty in dealing with Apple products. Additionally, Dave takes interest in Web 2.0 programming languages such as Ruby on Rails, and database design.
Dave also has a strong interest in business. This includes areas such as marketing, e-commerce, demographics, motivational theory and operations management. He has a strong belief that the internet and new social networking trends will provide a wealth of opportunity to new business.
Jake Billo
Jake is a Computer Science student at the University of Waterloo. He is enrolled in the co-op program and is currently completing an eight month position at Research in Motion until December 2007. From January 2006 until April 2007, Jake wrote technical documentation and developed tools for Eclipse in IBM’s Software Group, alternating work from onsite in Markham, Ontario as well as remotely from Waterloo.
Prior to attending university, Jake worked for Maplesoft (Waterloo Maple) from 2004 - 2005, assisting with programs marketing and internal tools development. He also developed several multimedia software training packages for the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.
Jake initially started repairing and servicing computers in 2001, when the Government of Ontario introduced a standardized report card for elementary schools. As a result of the new technology requirements, he began performing in-home support for teachers and school support staff. Educational clients are still a large part of Jake’s focus, and he can provide comprehensive technical support for school board systems and K-12 software.
Unique services that Jake offers include home theatre recommendations and installation, advanced or complicated development projects, and high-end technology consultation.
Warren Gray
Warren is currently enrolled in his second year of study in the Computer Science program at the University of Waterloo. Currently, he is on his cooperative education term, and is employed at Research in Motion in Waterloo, Ontario. After earning his degree, he plans to find permanent employment in the technology sector, focusing on artificial intelligence.
For the year following September, 2005, Warren was employed at Maplesoft (Waterloo Maple). During his time there, he assisted in many projects relating to database standardization, and migration to a new customer management platform. He was also in charge of maintaining many of the tools developed by Jake Billo.
Computer service and repair has always been a strong interest for Warren, and he has been maintaining various platforms since 2002. He also has a strong passion for new technology and gadgets.
Warren’s unique skills extend into unusual and uncommon software development projects. Additionally, he has a strong aptitude for database application development and web based applications. In addition to this, Warren can also provide technology recommendations based on budget and desired functionality.
